Zoe O’Donoghue

Managing Director of the Verena Institute

Zoe O'Donoghue is the Managing Director of the Verena Institute and works closely with Colin and the other Institute leadership to coordinate the research, education & training, and data infrastructure aspects of Verena's work. Prior to joining Verena, she served as a Senior Infectious Disease Advisor in the Emerging Threats Division in USAID's Bureau for Global Health during her tenure as a AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow. She earned her PhD in Microbiology from the University of Colorado where her work explored the relationship between viral RNA structure and function during flavivirus infection. She also has a BSc in Marine Science from Eckerd College, is an avid traveler, and enjoys spending time outside with her partner, son, and two dogs.
