Meet the Lab.
Caroline Cummings
Ph.D. Student
Oklahoma State University
Caroline is a PhD student in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology in the University of Oklahoma’s School of Biological Sciences. She is curious to better understand how land-use change and climate change affect host competence, biodiversity loss, and zoonotic risk. At OU, she works in the Becker Lab and is developing trait-based practice models to identify novel hosts of zoonotic pathogen and is testing how integrating immunological traits into these models affects model performance and predictions. Prior to attending OU, she earned a BSA in Biology Honors at the University of Texas at Austin, as part of the Polymathic Scholar program, and a BA in the Plan II Honors program, a competitive and interdisciplinary liberal arts major at UT. Outside of lab, Caroline loves reading with her parents’ dogs, painting, and spending time outside. (She/her)
